MY TOP 3 BEST AND AFFORDABLE SUSHI RESTAURANTS IN TOKYO
As you know, I live in Tokyo. I’ve tested numerous sushi restaurants in the city. I’m happy to reveal and share my absolute top 3. They are good, they are cheap… you just won’t regret it! They are also in three different Tokyo neighborhoods, so hopefully, you will find on near you.
Let’s get straight to it:
Maguro bito Ueno, Ueno
This is a standing sushi restaurant. It’s a very common way to eat sushis in Japan. You go in, you stand at the counter. The sushi chef is right in front of you preparing ultra fresh sushis. The rule is to just order one by one until you are full (80% full actually to respect the Japanese rule and live a long life ;))
It’s a tiny restaurant but the queue is usually OK. Enjoy!
2. SUshi no midori, Shibuya
Super easy to access, just above Shibuya station on the 4th floor. There is usually a line but the great thing is that you can just get a ticket to get a spot in the queue and then wander around in the mall until you get the notification on Line that it’s almost your turn! They’ll keep your spot for 30 minutes.
It’s worth the wait, they have awesome sets to choose from and super delicious.
3. SUSHI UOGASHINIHONICHI, NAKANO
Another standing sushi restaurant! They are just the best. This one is also super tiny. Just enter, order and watch the chef prepare in front of you. Each sushi costs around 1-2$ and is so good and fresh…
